| Precautions When cutting thin plates with plasma, the nozzle orifice is small and the arc-concentrating ability is strong, which results in poor arc transfer ability. In this case, we need to lower the positioning height to ensure that the cutting arc can be successfully transferred to the workpiece. When using plasma cutting, we should pay attention to two key points: Listening: Pay attention to the sound. If the sound is harsh, it indicates that the electrode has worn more than 90%, and the electrode must be replaced immediately. If the sound is hollow, it means there is insufficient gas supply, so check the gas supply system promptly. Observing: Observe the plasma arc and the splash during piercing. During normal cutting, the plasma arc and the arc below the workpiece will form a 15-degree angle, which ensures the best cutting effect. The normal plasma arc is bright white. If it turns light blue, it indicates a burnout or short-circuit fault of the consumable parts. Ensure a 100% plasma arc ignition success rate. If the ignition success rate is lower than 100%, adjust the distance of the high-frequency ignition to enhance the intensity of high-frequency ignition. When using an air compressor for gas supply, ensure the air is clean and pure. A three-stage filtration system must be installed, and the filter elements of the three-stage filtration system must be replaced every two months. When using a cooling water tank, it is recommended to use an air-conditioned refrigerated water tank, as it has the longest service life. When replacing the electrode and nozzle, the plasma gas test function must be turned on to blow dry the moisture inside the electrode and nozzle (perform the gas test 2-3 times). When using an air compressor, it must meet the gas supply requirement of the cutting torch (not less than 0.6 MPa). When using a cooling water tank, it must meet the flow rate requirement. Note: For the 120A nozzle, the cutting current shall not exceed 130 amperes. For the 200A nozzle, the cutting current shall not exceed 230 amperes. For the 300A nozzle, the cutting current shall not exceed 330 amperes. | |||||||
