Actual performance depends on material, thickness, joint design, surface condition, process parameters and required quality.
Handheld laser welding uses concentrated fiber-laser energy to melt and join metal along a controlled weld path.
Compared with many conventional welding processes, the focused energy can provide a narrow weld seam, smaller heat-affected zone and reduced workpiece deformation. The handheld gun allows operators to process butt joints, lap joints, fillet joints and inside or outside corners.
The machine supports welding with or without filler wire, depending on joint fit-up and application requirements.
The handheld cutting mode can perform limited cutting of compatible thin metal sheets using the correct nozzle, assist gas and operating parameters.
This function is intended for occasional trimming, fit-up adjustment and auxiliary workshop cutting. It does not replace a dedicated CNC fiber laser cutting machine for precision profiles, automated nesting, repeatable dimensions or volume production.
Remote cleaning uses a wider scanning pattern to remove suitable rust, oxide layers, paint and surface contaminants from metal.
It can be used for:
Pre-weld surface preparation
Rust removal
Oxide removal
Paint and coating removal
Oil and contaminant removal
Maintenance and restoration
Cleaning results depend on the coating type, thickness, adhesion, laser power, scan width and required substrate condition.
Weld seam cleaning uses a narrower processing area to remove discoloration, oxide and residue from a completed weld.
It is intended for localized post-weld finishing and can help prepare welded parts for inspection, painting or coating.
| Function | Surface cleaning | Weld seam cleaning |
|---|---|---|
| Main purpose | Clean a wider metal surface | Clean a localized welded joint |
| Typical use | Rust, oxide, paint or contamination removal | Post-weld discoloration and residue removal |

For critical applications, Heavth recommends testing the customer’s actual workpiece before final model selection.
The system can weld stainless steel cabinets, sinks, kitchen equipment, enclosures, frames and decorative components. Correct shielding gas and parameters help limit oxidation and discoloration.
Carbon steel and mild steel can be welded with or without filler wire, depending on material thickness, joint fit-up and strength requirements.
Galvanized steel requires appropriate surface preparation, process control and fume extraction. Heating the zinc coating can generate hazardous fumes and increase the risk of porosity.
Suitable aluminum alloys can be welded using the correct power, filler wire, shielding gas and surface preparation. Aluminum generally requires more careful parameter control than carbon steel or stainless steel.
Some copper and brass applications may be possible, but results depend strongly on material reflectivity, alloy composition, thickness and laser-source configuration. Sample testing is required.
Joins two workpieces along adjacent edges. Consistent part fit-up is important when welding without filler wire.
Joins overlapping metal sheets and is commonly used for cabinets, enclosures and sheet metal components.
Joins two surfaces positioned at an angle, including common T-joint applications.
The handheld gun provides access to internal corner joints when the torch, nozzle and workpiece geometry allow.
Suitable for external corner seams on cabinets, boxes and fabricated metal products.
Autogenous welding uses no filler wire and is suitable when the joint has a close and consistent fit-up.
The automatic wire feeder supplies additional material to bridge gaps, improve bead formation or meet weld-strength requirements.
The wire feeder delivers filler wire at a controlled rate and can help improve weld consistency.
It is recommended when:
Joint gaps are present
Additional weld material is required
A wider weld bead is needed
Part fit-up varies
Repeatable filler-wire delivery is important
Dissimilar material thicknesses are being joined
Common wire diameters may include 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm and 1.6mm, subject to the supplied feeder, guide tube and nozzle.
Wire material must match the base metal and welding requirements.
The handheld welding head moves the laser spot in a controlled oscillation pattern.
Wobble welding can help:
Increase effective weld width
Improve gap tolerance
Distribute heat more evenly
Control penetration
Improve weld seam appearance
Reduce the risk of localized overheating
Oscillation width, frequency and pattern must be set according to the material, thickness, gap and welding speed.
The control system allows the operator to select an operating mode and adjust relevant parameters.
Depending on configuration, adjustable parameters may include:
Laser power
Welding speed
Scan width
Oscillation frequency
Wire feed speed
Gas delay
Laser delay
Start and end settings
Material presets
Cleaning width
Cleaning speed
Only trained operators should change process parameters.
The cooling system is integrated into the machine and does not require a separate cooling-water unit.
Removing the external chiller reduces the overall equipment footprint and simplifies workshop placement.
The compact design makes the system easier to relocate between work areas or transport for suitable on-site applications.
Operators do not need to replace coolant, clean a water tank or inspect an external water circulation loop.
Air cooling eliminates risks associated with coolant leakage, contamination and freezing. The machine must still remain within its specified environmental limits.
Installation requires electrical power, grounding, gas or compressed air, ventilation and a controlled laser work area, but no external chiller connection.

Laser welding is not automatically the best process for every joint. Irregular gaps, dirty material, inaccessible welds or one-off repairs may still favor conventional welding.
Remove suitable rust, oxide, oil or surface contamination before welding to improve process stability.
Remove localized oxidation, discoloration and residue from completed weld seams.
Prepare compatible metal surfaces before painting, coating or bonding.
Clean rusted or contaminated parts during maintenance and repair.
The cleaning function may not be suitable for every coating, contaminant or substrate. Thick coatings, hazardous materials and large-area high-speed cleaning may require a dedicated pulsed laser cleaning machine.
The cutting function is intended for:
Thin-sheet trimming
Fit-up adjustment
Removing small sections
Occasional workshop cutting
Maintenance and repair
It is not intended for:
Precision batch cutting
Automated nesting
High-speed profile cutting
Large or thick plates
Tight dimensional tolerances
Replacing a CNC cutting table
Weld cabinets, housings, brackets, frames and general fabricated components.
Process stainless steel sinks, worktables, cabinets, shelves and commercial kitchen equipment.
Weld stainless steel and aluminum frames, doors, windows and architectural components.
Produce tables, chairs, shelves, frames and decorative metal products.
Weld control boxes, electrical cabinets and stainless steel enclosures.
Process approved metal components and perform suitable workshop repair applications.
Perform welding, localized cutting and surface cleaning during equipment maintenance.
The compact air-cooled design supports applications where the machine needs to be relocated frequently, subject to laser safety controls.
This machine is a high-power industrial laser product. It must only be used by trained operators in a controlled laser working area.
The welding head should emit laser energy only when the configured safety circuit and workpiece-contact conditions are satisfied.
An accessible emergency-stop button must stop laser output when an unsafe condition occurs.
The machine and workpiece must be grounded according to the operating manual and local electrical regulations.
Operators and nearby personnel require eyewear rated for the actual wavelength and optical density of the system. Ordinary welding glasses are not sufficient unless specifically certified for this laser.
Use appropriate barriers, curtains, warning signs and access controls to prevent direct or reflected laser exposure.
Welding, cutting and cleaning can produce hazardous fumes and particles. Use local exhaust ventilation suitable for the processed material.
Remove flammable materials, provide suitable fire-extinguishing equipment and monitor the workpiece after processing.
Stainless steel, aluminum, copper and other reflective metals can produce hazardous reflections. The work area must be evaluated accordingly.

The machine combines handheld laser welding, auxiliary thin-metal cutting, remote surface cleaning and weld seam cleaning. Operators change the operating mode and install the corresponding nozzle or optical configuration before performing each function.
No. It uses an integrated air-cooling system and does not require an external water chiller or coolant circuit. This reduces the machine footprint and eliminates coolant replacement, leakage and freezing issues.
Surface cleaning uses a wider scanning area to remove rust, oxide, paint and contamination from a metal surface. Weld seam cleaning uses a narrower processing area to remove localized discoloration and residue after welding.
The machine can weld compatible stainless steel, carbon steel, mild steel, galvanized steel and aluminum. Some copper and brass applications may also be possible. Results depend on material grade, thickness, joint, gas and process parameters.
Maximum welding thickness depends on laser power, material, joint design, gap, welding speed, filler wire and required quality. The final capacity should be confirmed with a material-specific test instead of relying on a single universal thickness value.
Yes. Suitable aluminum alloys can be welded using the correct laser power, shielding gas, filler wire and surface preparation. Aluminum generally requires more careful parameter control than carbon steel or stainless steel.
Yes. Autogenous welding without filler wire is possible when the joint has a close and consistent fit-up. For larger gaps or applications requiring additional weld material, the automatic wire feeder is recommended.
Common configurations support 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm and 1.6mm wire. The exact range depends on the supplied feeder, guide tube, drive rollers and welding nozzle.
Argon is commonly used for stainless steel and aluminum. Nitrogen or approved compressed air may be suitable for certain carbon-steel or cleaning applications. Gas selection, purity, pressure and flow must match the material and process.
It may remove rust, oxide and coatings, but cleaning performance depends on contamination thickness, adhesion, laser power and scan settings. Heavy corrosion or large-area thick coating removal may require a dedicated pulsed laser cleaning machine.
Cleaning width depends on the cleaning lens, focal length, scan configuration and operating parameters. Heavth should confirm the available cleaning width for the exact gun and optics included in the quotation.
No. Handheld cutting is intended for occasional auxiliary cutting of compatible thin metal. It does not provide the accuracy, repeatability, automated nesting or production speed of a CNC fiber laser cutting machine.
Continuous operating time depends on laser power, air-cooling capacity, ambient temperature, ventilation, dust and duty cycle. The machine must remain within its specified temperature range and should not be advertised as operating continuously without validated test data.
Air cooling is more compact and requires less cooling-system maintenance. Water cooling may be more suitable for demanding high-power or extended-duty production. The better option depends on the application and operating environment.
For suitable sheet-metal joints, handheld laser welding can be significantly faster and may require less post-weld finishing. Actual improvement depends on the joint, material, operator and quality requirements and should be verified through comparative testing.
Operators need wavelength-appropriate laser safety eyewear, protective clothing, gloves, fume extraction and a controlled laser area. Correct grounding, an emergency stop, safety interlocks, reflective-surface control and laser safety training are also required.
Choose based on material, maximum thickness, joint design, production time and cleaning requirements. The 700W model targets lighter work, 1500W offers a balanced general-purpose configuration, and 2000W provides greater processing capacity.
Provide the material type, thickness, joint design, cleaning material, coating thickness, required functions, daily operating hours, destination country and available power supply. Photos, drawings or samples will improve configuration accuracy.
